Problems you may notice
• Refrigerator compressor not running or cycling abnormally
• Temperature display showing incorrect readings or flashing
• Cooling function reduced or completely absent
• Freezer compartment not maintaining proper temperature
• Refrigerator compartment warming up unexpectedly
• Control panel unresponsive to button inputs
• Error code 7 appearing on digital display
• Unusual beeping or alarm sounds from the unit
Possible Causes
• Loose or disconnected wiring harness between control board and sensors
• Faulty temperature sensor (thermistor) in refrigerator or freezer compartment
• Defective main control board with communication circuit issues
• Malfunctioning damper control board preventing proper airflow regulation
• Failed evaporator fan motor or fan control circuit
• Power supply voltage fluctuations affecting control board operation
• Corroded or loose electrical connections at 120V outlet
• Water damage or moisture accumulation in control panel area
Precautionary measures
• Verify the refrigerator is properly plugged into a functioning 120V outlet (standard USA outlet) and check that the outlet has power by testing with another appliance
• Ensure both the refrigerator and freezer doors are fully closed and sealing properly
• Confirm temperature settings are appropriate (typically 37-40°F for refrigerator, 0°F for freezer)
• Allow the refrigerator to run for 4-6 hours after a power interruption or reset to stabilize internal temperature
• Check that air vents inside the refrigerator and freezer compartments are not blocked by food items or ice buildup
• Verify the refrigerator is level by using a spirit level on top of the unit; adjust leveling feet if necessary for proper door closure and drainage
• Perform a power reset by unplugging the refrigerator from the outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and observe if the error clears
• Alternatively, if your unit has a dedicated breaker, turn off the breaker for 60 seconds and turn it back on
• Inspect the power cord for any visible damage, cuts, or exposed wiring
• Allow 15-20 minutes after power restoration for the control board to fully reinitialize before assessing if the error persists
• If the Fault Code 7 error continues to display after these checks, contact a professional appliance repair technician who can test the control board and sensors with specialized diagnostic equipment
