• Error code F5X displays on the control panel
• Dishes remain unwashed or partially cleaned
• Cycle gets stuck or times out
• Audible beeping or alarm sounds when error occurs
• Display may show interruption during normal operation
Possible Causes
• Water inlet valve malfunction or failure to open properly
• Kinked, bent, or pinched inlet hose restricting water flow
• Clogged inlet filter screens on water supply lines
• Insufficient water pressure from household supply (common in some USA regions)
• Faulty water level sensor or fill switch
• Broken or disconnected water supply hose connections
• Electronic control board error detecting fill system problem
• Closed or partially closed water shut-off valve under sink
• Air lock in the water supply line
• Float switch stuck or not functioning correctly
Precautionary measures
• Verify the dishwasher power cord is firmly connected to a working outlet and the outlet has power
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the dishwasher circuit breaker is in the ON position; if tripped, switch OFF then back ON
• Confirm the dishwasher door is fully closed and latched until you hear a click
• Locate the water shut-off valve under your sink (typically a knob or lever on the cold water line) and ensure it is turned fully open
• Inspect both the inlet hose connections at the dishwasher and under the sink for any visible kinks, bends, or pinches; straighten if found
• Check the inlet hose for any cracks or leaks and ensure all connections are hand-tight
• Remove and clean the inlet filter screens located where the hose connects to the dishwasher and water supply valve
• Verify you are using the correct amount of dishwasher detergent appropriate for your water hardness and load size
• Open the dishwasher door, locate the filter basket at the bottom, remove it, rinse thoroughly under running water to remove any debris or buildup
• Check the spray arms for clogs; remove them if accessible and rinse spray holes under running water
• Perform a full appliance reset by switching OFF the circuit breaker for exactly 60 seconds, then switch back ON
• Run the dishwasher through a short test cycle to see if error clears
• If the F5X error persists after completing all these checks, contact a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and repair the water inlet valve, fill sensor, or control board
