Problems you may notice
• Washer stops mid-cycle and displays F2 error code
• No water filling into the drum during wash cycle
• Reduced water pressure or minimal water entering the tub
• Washer beeps or alerts with F2 displayed on control panel
• Cycle does not progress beyond the fill stage
• Water fills very slowly or incompletely
• Error appears on second wash attempt after initial use
Possible Causes
• One or both water inlet valves are clogged with mineral deposits (common in areas with hard water)
• Inlet hoses kinked, pinched, or crimped behind or under the washer
• Water supply shut-off valves (behind washer) are partially or fully closed
• Inlet hose screens are blocked with sediment or debris
• Water pressure to home is too low (below 20 PSI minimum required)
• Cold or hot water supply line is frozen or blocked
• Faulty water inlet valve solenoid preventing water flow
• Connection issues between inlet hoses and water supply
• Washer door or lid not fully latched, triggering safety lock
• Defective water level sensor providing incorrect readings
Precautionary measures
• Check that both hot and cold water shut-off valves behind your washer are fully open (turn counterclockwise)
• Inspect both inlet hoses for kinks, twists, or pinching—gently straighten any bent sections
• Verify the washer door or lid closes completely and latches securely with an audible click
• Check your home's water pressure by running a faucet—water should flow steadily; if weak, contact your water utility
• Inspect inlet hose screens at the connection points where hoses attach to water supply valves for visible debris or sediment
• Ensure you are using the correct amount of detergent (excess suds can trigger sensor errors)
• Confirm clothes are not overloaded—an unbalanced load can prevent proper water detection
• Locate and reset your home's circuit breaker for your washer by switching it OFF for 60 seconds, then back ON
• Run a test cycle with no clothes to isolate whether the problem occurs consistently
• If inlet hose screens are dirty, turn off water valves and gently rinse screens with clean water
• Verify water supply is not interrupted by checking other faucets in your home
If the F2 error persists after completing these checks, the water inlet valve or sensor may require replacement. Contact a professional appliance repair technician or appliance repair support service to diagnose and repair the internal components.
