Problems you may notice
• Dishwasher fails to start or begin its wash cycle
• Water does not fill the dishwasher tub during operation
• Error code A20 displays on the control panel
• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle without completing the wash
• Humming or clicking sounds from the water inlet valve area
• No water spray from spray arms during operation
• Dishes remain unwashed after cycle completion
Possible Causes
• Water supply valve behind dishwasher is closed or partially shut off
• Kinked, pinched, or twisted inlet hose restricting water flow
• Clogged or frozen inlet hose due to mineral buildup or debris
• Faulty water inlet valve solenoid that won't open
• Defective water pressure switch or float switch
• Damaged inlet hose with cracks or leaks
• Low water pressure from home supply (below 20 PSI required for USA models)
• Tripped circuit breaker affecting the inlet valve circuit
• Control board malfunction preventing water inlet signal
Precautionary measures
• Check that your home's main water supply shutoff valve is fully open
• Locate the water inlet valve shutoff behind or beneath your dishwasher and confirm it is turned fully counterclockwise (open position)
• Inspect the inlet hose along its full length for kinks, pinches, or bends that restrict water flow and straighten if needed
• Examine the inlet hose connection points at the dishwasher and wall for visible leaks or loose fittings
• Ensure your dishwasher door is completely closed and the latch engages firmly
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to confirm the breaker for the dishwasher is in the ON position; if tripped, switch OFF then back ON
• Perform a full reset by switching off the dishwasher circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then switch back ON to allow the control system to reinitialize
• Verify the inlet hose strainer screen (typically located at the connection point) is not clogged; gently flush with warm water if accessible
• Confirm you are using the correct dishwasher detergent and proper fill amounts for your model
• Test water pressure at another faucet in your kitchen to ensure adequate supply pressure
• If error persists after these checks, contact a professional appliance repair technician who can diagnose inlet valve and control board issues
