Problems you may notice
• Washer stops mid-cycle and displays F6 error code
• No water filling the drum during wash cycle
• Reduced water flow from inlet hoses
• Cycle fails to start after closing lid or door
• Error code appears intermittently during different wash cycles
• Washer pauses and beeps before displaying F6
• Water level sensor not detecting water entry
Possible Causes
• Cold or hot water supply valves turned off or partially closed
• Inlet hose kinked, twisted, or pinched restricting water flow
• Water inlet filter screens clogged with sediment or mineral deposits
• Faulty water inlet solenoid valves failing to open
• Water pressure too low from municipal water supply
• Inlet hose connection loose at washer inlet port
• Defective water level pressure sensor
• Clogged inlet hose screens from hard water mineral buildup
• Circuit breaker tripped affecting power to fill circuits
• Control board malfunction preventing fill valve activation
Precautionary measures
• Turn off the circuit breaker to your Fisher & Paykel washer for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the appliance
• Check that both the cold and hot water supply valves (usually located behind or under the washer) are fully turned on counterclockwise
• Inspect both inlet hoses for visible kinks, twists, or crimps that restrict water flow and straighten if needed
• Ensure the washer door or lid is fully closed and latches completely before starting a cycle
• Verify your circuit breaker has not tripped; reset it if needed by switching the breaker fully off then back on
• Check water pressure at your home by testing a sink faucet to confirm adequate water supply
• Remove the inlet hoses and visually inspect the small inlet filter screens at each connection point for sediment or debris and rinse if necessary
• Confirm inlet hose connections are hand-tight at both the wall supply connections and the washer inlet ports
• Ensure you are using the correct amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent as excessive suds can interfere with water sensors
• Run an empty test cycle with no load to isolate whether the issue occurs consistently
• If the F6 error persists after completing these checks, contact a professional appliance repair technician who can diagnose and service water inlet components and sensors
